Charity Big Band Evening in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Trust

On the 29th July 2017, a Charity Big Band Concert was held at the Steyning Centre, in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The concert was the brainchild of Jim Prior, whose sister Briony suffers from cystic fibrosis.  Both Jim and Briony are musicians, and through his work, Jim built up a 20-strong band of musician friends, willing to give their time and skills for this worthy cause.

Jim's parents, Gary and Zoe, run the Steyning Music Society, and were able to donate the use of the society's Steinway model C piano.

The Steyning and Henfield Rotary Club assisted by organising and running the bar, and further help was provided by members of the Steyning Jazz Club.

The evening was a resounding success, with fantastic music and a hall packed to capacity.

A magnificent sum of £2830 was raised and will be presented to the Cysyic Fibrosis Trust shortly.
